About the Ram 1500…
Ram 1500 is one of the most dynamic, yet functional pickups on the road delivering a best-in-class fuel economy of 18 MPG city and 25 MPG highway. The 2014 Ram offers a 3.6-liter V-6 engine and first-in-segment technologies: TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, stop-start system, thermal management system, pulse-width modulation and active aerodynamics, including grille shutters and air suspension. A new 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine is responsible for the outstanding fuel economy as well as the exceptional torque and towing capacity (up to 9,200 pounds).
The first thing everyone notices are the rugged good lucks with the classic RAM emblem on both the hood and the tailgate making a grand statement of ownership from one end of the truck to the other. The curvy front fascia serves as a reminder of the family to which this truck belongs as well. It’s unmistakably Dodge!
Past the front fascia, the dual cab defines this truck as an option for family vehicles aside from an unbelievable work truck. And, of course, moving toward the rear, the full-size bed can haul anything from work site materials to groceries, strollers, sporting equipment and more!
Come On In…
A look around the interior quickly reveals lots of space and amenities like a large center console (which can be moved up for an extra seat); touchscreen with navigation; steering wheel controls; and other controls within easy reach for temperature, stereo and warming buttons. This truck could easily become a family vehicle with such a spacious back seat.
The drive is awesome with super power providing confidence to merge onto the busy interstates where I live as well as handle the hills and valleys in my own neighborhood. The power is more than adequate to handle hauling your favorite weekend toys or take the boat to the lake.
Work Truck or Family Vehicle…
I know that it’s important for a tough truck like the Ram to be full of work truck amenities, but in today’s economy, many folks have to have their vehicles bear more than one role within their households. Dodge has carefully engineered this truck to carry the workload, but also has given it features that make a family comfortable and happy using it for a ride to church, a trip to the mall and even vacation! The general reaction to folks having a ride with me or just peering in through the window was “wow!”
Just call me a girl with a truck…yep, this one makes me happy! I was expecting it to be more rigid, less playful with colors. The chocolate brown interior was neutral and manly, yet refreshing from standard black shades used inside pickups. It’s a keeper!
