The staff at each of the Public Libraries in Jefferson County is excited to offer a variety of different opportunities for all ages. No matter where you live in Jefferson County, your local library is planning exciting activities for children, and often teens and adults, as well. There will be hands-on programs such as robotics, drum circles, animal programs and performances, including concerts and even an aerial circus. More than half of the libraries in Jefferson County also have online programs in place for summer reading.
The libraries in Jefferson County are excited to now offer text messaging notifications!
Texts can be sent for holds, a 3-day courtesy reminder, renewals and library card expiration reminders. This is sure to be a useful tool for parents, especially when it comes to checking out summer reading materials. Parents can simply receive a text message to remind them that a hold is ready for pick-up or that they need to renew overdue titles. You can even renew items just by sending a reply text message.
Also, the library cooperative recently rolled out a Public Libraries in Jefferson County app from the App store.
Upon downloading this app, library cardholders can use their digital library card, and start searching for downloadable books and book availability. The app also allows you to renew borrowed items and more! Also, you no longer have to carry around your physical library card!
