Did you think you needed years of school, a white coat and Ph.D. to be a scientist? Science is so much more than that, and is open to anyone with curiosity and interest! UAB celebrates the fun of learning this summer with the HotScience summer camp.

HotScience is equal parts fun summer camp and mini-internship. Join us for a week this July as we provide you an opportunity to learn advanced skills. We’ll analyze foods for genetically modified organisms, make our own polymers, create explosive demonstrations, and more!

Do you think a health career, pre-med, or scientific research might be for you? Check it out here as you learn to fight viruses, create vaccines, and play with DNA! We’ll also explore UAB labs, talk about the resources, facilities, and student life at UAB, and much more!

HotScience is aimed at junior and senior high school students and entering UAB freshmen. This camp will help you get a head start on your career, get acclimated to college life, meet UAB students and faculty – all in a fun and relaxed environment in the summer!
