Superior oral health is vital for a child’s development, Pediatric and Adolescent Dentistry is here to help every step of the way. We are committed to making your child’s first dental visit a pleasant and comfortable one. We understand the importance of establishing a good oral hygiene regimen early in a child’s life, and we provide children with the necessary knowledge and treatment to maintain a healthy smile. Our practice strives to make this new journey for your child a fun and rewarding experience. There is no doubt...your child’s path to optimum dental health starts here.

Pediatric and Adolescent Dentistry has two wonderful doctors who treat each child as if they were their own. Dr. Lauten Johnson completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at The University of Alabama School of Dentistry and obtained his Alabama State Dental License in 2006. He completed his residency in pediatrics at UAB in 2007. Dr. Johnson was a Sparks Fellow during his residency where he mastered techniques in working on children with special needs. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Clark Thomas completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine from The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry and obtained his Alabama State Dental License in 2001. He completed his Pediatric Residency Program at UAB in 2007 and is Board Certified in the practice of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Thomas was also a Sparks Fellow during his residency and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Both of these doctors are certified in the use of oral sedation and have privileges at Children’s Hospital. When needed they both can take children to general anesthesia at Children’s to complete procedures which otherwise would be impossible to accomplish. Dental visits can be fun and our hope at Pediatric and Adolescent Dentistry is for your children to want to come to the dentist.
