What’s sweeter than dessert? Nothing… except perhaps dessert that’s served up for a good cause. Get ready to indulge your sweet tooth in the 3rd Annual Magic City Dessert Competition, benefiting Cahaba Valley Health Care, on Saturday, February 21 from 7–10 p.m. at The City Club Birmingham (1901 6th Ave. N., Birmingham).
What to Expect:
Whether you consider yourself a chocoholic or you’re just in it for the silent auction (hello, dreamy Mexico trip, here I come!), this 18+ event makes for the perfect date night or girls’ night out. Not only will you get to sample the best desserts in Birmingham, there will also be drinks, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and a live DJ pumping out some sweet jams. Last year, 13 talented dessert competitors showcased their very best, each hoping to be crowned Birmingham’s Best Dessert at the end of the night. “The MCDC is such a fun evening with tons of amazing desserts and drinks! It’s the perfect way to spend a cold February Saturday night—friends, food, music we all love, all the while supporting a non-profit,” shares Noah Rothman, President of Cahaba Valley Health Care Junior Board. “Personally, I have really enjoyed getting to know new people in Birmingham, making friends, and eating way too much dessert. Definitely want to exercise before coming to this one!”
The Cause Behind It All:
Proceeds from the event will directly benefit Cahaba Valley Health Care, an organization committed to providing free dental and vision care to patients in need in Jefferson and Shelby counties.
