Alabama Splash Adventure opened for the summer season on May 19 with the largest expansion in park history.
What does this mean for park goers? There are six new amusement attractions, a new Pirate High Dive Show, big improvements and additions to the water park and many more enhancements to make this park more fun all summer.
Alabama Splash combines rides and activities with the waterpark to make it a great attraction, all together for families, for one simple price. Whether you want to try a new ride or the historic Rampage Wooden Roller Coaster, there’s something for every member of the family.
In the waterpark section, there’s a cool new area for younger children called Splash Island, complete with kids’ slides and a play area, and numerous lounge chairs and even shade for those seeking it. The waterpark is also the home to the new high dive show.
New rides at Alabama Splash include the Scrambler, a nostalgic, yesteryear ride with tons of fun for today; Yo-Yo, a swing ride that spins and offers the experience of flight; The Rocking Tug, rocking and spinning motions in a “ship;” and Royal Express, a gentle train ride off the rails throughout the park.
There’s a newly-renovated Island Café Restaurant with a new Pepsi Oasis, where you still get FREE drinks, every day. There is more seating, more lockers in the water park, more shaded structures, more dining tables, more premium cabanas for rent, more food choices including gluten-free items and the newly-renovated Pepsi Amphitheater. Also, you can now book parties/birthday parties at Alabama Splash and remember those private cabanas are also available for rent throughout the season.
And what’s so special about Alabama Splash? Owners Dan Koch and his mom Pat, “the general” have more than 60 years of experience in the amusement and waterpark industry. You’ll find Alabama Splash to be one of the cleanest, friendliest, safest parks around. When they purchased the park five years ago they did a major restoration to the park, the roller coaster and brought free parking, free unlimited Pepsi drinks, free sunscreen and free inner tubes and even free Wi-Fi to the park.
As a result, the honors have been streaming in. In 2017, it was chosen as one of the top five friendliest parks in the world by readers of Amusement Today. It was named one of the best theme park values in the USA by MSN News. And, the Rampage Roller Coasters ranked one of the top 25 wooden coasters in the world. “We build upon these honors. We are definitely moving in the right direction. Thank you, guests, team members and the great state of Alabama,” Dan Koch says.
This season, guests will see that season pricing has been lowered, and if you buy online or bring a Pepsi product, you can receive $5 off or $10 bonus cash.
In addition, there is a “sunshine” guarantee at Alabama Splash. While they cannot guarantee every day will be sunny when you visit, if the rides and slides are closed one hour or more due to lightning on your visit, you’ll be able to come another day!
