The Browder Family (Kristina, Will, Vera and Maddie) are everyday Homewood Public Library users who continually the library. Now Vera (pictured) wants to give back by baking and selling scones to use in future Bake & Make programs done by Cristina Castor, Head of Children’s Services.
Vera recently offered her scones during Spring Break March 25-April 2 and made over $100 to donate to the Children’s Department’s Bake & Make program.
Vera’s mom Kristina says, “Vera originally thought she could take a recipe she tried and sell enough to renovate our basement into a restaurant, complete with converting our garage door into a drive-through window. After talking about the difference between short and long-term goals and then attending this month’s Bake and Make, she realized bake sale money could probably better be spent if she gave it to Mrs. Cristina to buy “fancy sprinkles.”
