One of the state’s most popular attractions, the Birmingham Zoo, is an ever-evolving adventure. Guests come from around the Southeast to see animals such as red pandas, lions, giraffes, orangutans, rhinos, bears, elephants, sea lions, zebras, a jaguar, and many more.
From Trails of Africa to the Children’s Zoo and everything in-between, the Birmingham Zoo features animals from all over the world, with signage highlighting the Zoo’s amazing animal care, conservation initiatives, and Species Survival Plans.
With approximately 550 animals of 180 species and endangered species from 6 continents, the Birmingham Zoo’s 122-acre site is the perfect place to visit any time of the year.

The Birmingham Zoo is open to the public Wednesday – Sunday / 9am – 5pm.
Private tours are held on Monday and Tuesday at 10am.
Closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day
Early Closing on Thursday, December 23 at 1pm

Price Range for Services: Adults: $17.95, Seniors (65+): $14.95, Children ages 2-12: $12.95. Infants under age 2 do not need a ticket.
Packages Available: Discounted rates for groups of 15 and more. Our playground pavilion is a great place to host your Birthday Party – and it’s FREE! (No reservation needed – playground pavilion is first come first serve. Located in the main parking lot green space)
