Service Dogs Alabama is dedicated to providing medical and psychiatric Service Dogs to children ages 14 and over, adults, Veterans with disabilities, and Intervention Facility Dogs for schools and youth facilities. Service Dogs Alabama is accredited by Assistance Dogs International.

SDA is a multi-faceted Service Dog training organization. We use advanced methods to train our dogs, pairing voice commands with body language and scent. We have approximately 50 dogs in training at all times at various levels of training.

Each dog that completes the Service Dog Alabama program has been certified in Public Access and task training for PTSD and anxiety, seizure alert, Autism intervention, and mobility and wheelchair assistance. Additionally, Facility Dogs are trained for anxiety and trauma intervention.

SDA has an exceptional breeding program. The female and male are tested for health issues and 9 temperament/ work ethic issues. These purpose-bred canines complete 2 1/2 years of training, including over 3,600 hours of one-on-one professional hours of training.

At the time of placement, handler and dog go through 5-7 days of training which covers managing their Service Dog in all situations. Training includes professional dog trainer's assistance, counselors, speaking with other people with disabilities, teachers, and courtroom dog handlers that have had years of experience with their canine partner. Also covered are Dept. of Safety and Dept. of Health requirements.

100% guarantee or we replace your Service Dog.
