Children’s of Alabama is known for its specialized medical care for ill and injured children, which often involves research on various diseases and cancers to provide the best possible care. (There’s a reason it’s been ranked among the best children’s hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report!) Hyundai Hope on Wheels is helping make that possible by granting the hospital the 2025 Hyundai Hope on Wheels Impact Grant for $100,000 on August 7th. The grant will support research on medulloblastoma, a type of pediatric brain tumor, which are the most common kind of malignant solid tumors in children.

“It is great to see the community coming behind us and supporting what we do,” shares Girish Dhall, MD, Director of the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. “It just increases the enthusiasm that we have in what we do every day. We are just trying to improve the lives of children with cancer and blood disorders at Children’s of Alabama.”
The grant was awarded in a handprint ceremony on a Hyundai vehicle at Children’s of Alabama. Hyundai Hope on Wheels is a nonprofit organization committed to finding a cure for childhood cancer. Since its origins in 1998, Hyundai Hope on Wheels has donated $277 million in pediatric cancer research grants to children’s hospitals nationwide.
