HEART-SHAPED MEALS
I heart food… I mean, you. And heart-shaped food. If you’re looking for a simple way to be festive on Valentine’s Day without doing a whole bunch of extra work, here are a few meal ideas (and desserts—always desserts) to inspire your cooking. Whether you have a heart-shaped kitchen product or not, you’re bound to find something you love that you can make.
Heart-shaped Pan:
– Pizza (You can also cut the pepperoni into hearts if you don’t have a heart pan!)
– Cake (Any flavor will do… although pink certainly adds to the ambience. Feel free to ice it and coat it with red, pink, and white sprinkles.)
Heart-shaped Cookie Cutters:
– Shortbread cookies
– Sugar cookies
– Cheese blocks
– Egg-in-a-heart (Cook an egg inside a slice of bread that you’ve punched a heart out of)
– Rice Krispie treats
Heart-shaped Bundt Pan:
– Bundt cake
– Lasagna (No, really!)
No pan? No problem!
Here are a few ideas that don’t require heart-shaped tools:
– Red velvet pancakes (Regular flavored ones will also do! Delish!)
– Cinnamon twists
– Heart toast (Make a heart by cutting it diagonally and flipping one side, then pushing together)
You can find recipes for many of these ideas and more on foodnetwork.com. If you’re looking for an easier route though…
