As May approaches at what feels like a supersonic speed, high school graduation has begun looming over many parents’ heads. You may be wondering, “Is my kid ready? Have I done all I can to prepare them for college? Am I ready for them to leave?”
If you can answer any of those questions with “No” or “I don’t know,” the one-day conference LAUNCH: Ready Redefined is for you. It is taking place on Saturday, April 12 in Hoover and is facilitated by Lisa Donohue (Master Board Certified Life Coach, Master Board Certified Mental Health Coach, Stress Management Coach) and April Colley (former Student Success Coordinator, Advising Director and Academic Advisor, Life Coach).
The day will be broken up into four sessions, during which you will explore the emotional, spiritual, relational, and physical changes that happen during this major life transition. The topics covered will include setting boundaries, managing expectations, addressing anxiety and depression, and other challenges you or your child might encounter.
The goal of LAUNCH: Ready Redefined is to prepare you and your soon-to-be college student for what happens after they survive the first month of college. Their hope is to cultivate sustainable and successful next-step growth for both of you, equipping you with foundational tools that will last a lifetime.
You can register for this event on their website. (Come hungry, because a continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.)
