Legends Virtual Academy (LVA) is offering flexible, personalized online instruction to Alabama students kindergarten through eleventh grade this 2025–26 academic year (and plans to expand to twelfth grade next year). LVA is a full-time, tuition-free online public school powered by K12, a Stride, Inc. portfolio brand with 25 years of expertise in online education, and it is operated through the Tuscaloosa County School System, though it’s open to all students across the state.
“We know that every family is looking for the learning environment that works best for their child,” says Adam Hawf, Superintendent of Schools at Stride, Inc. “With virtual learning expanding rapidly across Alabama, we’ve seen demand grow for a high‑quality online program that truly supports students. Legends Virtual Academy is here to provide a flexible, supportive option to help students thrive and reach their full potential.” The virtual school provides state-certified teachers to instruct students in interactive lessons that are tailored to their individual strengths and designed to accommodate multiple learning styles. Students will also be able to participate in extracurricular events, field trips, and clubs that align with their personal interests “outside” the (virtual) classroom.
