Situated downtown at 901 8th St. S., Bessie Estell Park is 5.20 acres of green space with places to play scattered throughout—but now, it also boasts Birmingham’s first all-inclusive playground. The new playground was named “Braelynn’s Way” after Braelynn, whose mom petitioned the city board for an accessible place to play for her child who had disabilities years ago. The playground features slides, seesaws, swings, and more. Visit birminghamal.gov to discover more local parks you can explore all around the city.
