Raising Stronger Kids, One Climb at a Time

From scaling 55-foot walls to playing climbing games with friends, High Point’s Youth Clubs and Teams offer a fun, active way for kids to build confidence and community. Whether your child is new to climbing or ready to compete, our age-based programs grow with them—developing skills and friendships in an engaging, supportive environment.

Game On: Climbing as a Youth Sport

Climbing is more than just reaching the top! It’s a full-body workout that builds focus, problem-solving, and resilience. Like soccer clubs or travel baseball, our Youth Clubs and Teams offer structured programs that meet kids where they are. Clubs focus on learning through play, with weekly skills, games, and instructor-led climbing. Teams take it up a notch with strength training, drills, and advanced technique—all led by experienced, encouraging coaches.

Our Competitive Teams even participate in the USA Climbing circuit, giving serious climbers the chance to compete at the regional and national levels.

Pro tip: Many kids transition from casual club climbers to serious athletes—and love every step of the journey.

What to Bring to Practice

Getting started is easy, and most gear can be rented. But if your child climbs regularly, here’s what we recommend keeping in their climbing bag:
● Climbing shoes – We have gear rentals available and a pro shop to purchase your own with knowledgeable staff to help with fit and sizing.
● Chalk bag – Keeps hands dry and grip strong
● Reusable water bottle – Hydration is key
● Healthy snack – Fuel for focus and fun
● Athletic wear – Comfortable clothing that moves with them

Pro tip: Label gear and snacks to keep your kid’s stuff organized and easy to grab during practice transitions.
