17th Annual MortgageBanc Chili Cook-Off

The Exceptional Foundation is excited to announce that their largest annual event, the Chili Cook-Off, is set for Saturday, May 1, 2021. 

Named the Best Community Event by Mountain Brook Magazine, The Exceptional Foundation is proud to have MortgageBanc as the presenting sponsor for the 4th year in a row! 

Attendees will enjoy the opportunity to test out the many varieties of chili, voting for who they believe should be the People’s Choice Winner all while enjoying time spent together and live music. Not only does this event welcome the community to join together for family-friendly fun, music, and food, it also directly benefits The Exceptional Foundation, a non-profit organization that is focused on enhancing the lives of those with special needs. 

On any given day, 197 men and women with special needs walk through the front doors of The Exceptional Foundation, excited for the chance to participate in social and recreational activities. It is through these activities that these individuals are given a chance that they may not find elsewhere. Collectively, The Exceptional Foundation serves 700 men and women from the greater Birmingham area, and it is thanks to attendees of The Chili CookOff that the participants continue to have this opportunity. 

The Chili Cook-Off will take place on Saturday, May 1 from 10:30 a.m.- 3 p.m. at Brookwood Village in the Upper Macy’s Parking Lot. To keep our patrons, staff, volunteers and participants safe, this year’s event will practice social-distancing where possible and offer a limited number of tickets. Tickets are available for purchase in advance on The Exceptional Foundation’s website or at the door for a $15 donation. Kids under 12 enter for free.
