Children’s Hospital recently unveiled the “Wall of Inspiration” children’s name listings on the expansion facility currently under construction at the hospital in downtown Birmingham. The Wall lists names of some of the children treated here over the years.
The expansion facility is being built to broaden the capability of Children’s Hospital to provide excellent health care to the boys and girls from all across Alabama who make nearly 700,000 visits here every year. These courageousyoungsters hold a special place in the hearts of all who work here—and in the hearts of those who are building the expansion. Placing the names of these kids on the framing will hold them deep within the structure of the hospital for all time.
The children recognized on the wall are nominated by hospital employees. The first 50 were invited to a celebration on Aug. 1. Others will be invited to similar events in upcoming months as construction continues.
Metro-area children’s names currently on the wall include Ladarrius Bogan, Jaden Oneal Bivens, Marwin T. Osborne, Ella Brimage Stone, Cora Beth Love of Birmingham; Morgan Carwell of Ensley; Mills Foster of Crestwood; Savannah Dewhurst, Laura Claire Coppage and Corey DeKel Merrida of Hoover; Marilyn Evans and Sara Bess Rikard of Helena; Jayzk and Maddie Grace Childs of Moody; Hanna Creel of Morris; Terra Moore of McCalla; Alex Swader of Mt. Olive; Katie Pharo of Mountain Brook; Hailey Grace Leslie of Trussville; Julieanne Evers of Vestavia; Adele Brandrup of Homewood; Nick Fiveash of Indian Springs; and Jacob Brouillette, Emily Ayers and Valentin Utrera Alvarez of North Shelby County. Dante Smiley of Trussville will be honored posthumously.
