It’s officially respiratory season!

Do you or someone you love have a sick kiddo at Children’s of Alabama? Make sure you know the new seasonal visiting policy they just implemented at the beginning of October before you go to see them!
It’s officially respiratory season, and with that comes a whole host of illnesses that spread rapidly. Children’s of Alabama is seeking to protect patients, staff, visitors, and the general community from spreading viruses and other forms of sickness by putting a symptom-free visiting policy into place and requiring visitors to be at least 13 years old. The policy states that visitors should not come to the hospital if they have a runny nose, a cough, a sore throat, exposure to anyone with flu-like symptoms, or have experienced a fever in the last 24 hours. The hospital also recommends you wear a mask, although it is only required in some patient areas.
You can visit daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a few exceptions. But limit your group to 4 people or less at one time so everyone can visit the patient. Don’t forget to stop by the main lobby’s information desk for a visitor’s sticker, and then make sure to wear your hospital-issued identification once you get to the patient’s room!
