Summer is officially here—OWA has fully re-opened! The 520-acre-plus entertainment destination on the Foley Beach Express is now welcoming families property-wide, from The Park at OWA to Downtown OWA and the property’s award-winning TownePlace Suites by Marriott.

The Park at OWA re-opened Friday, June 5 after consulting with health officials on best practices for enhanced health and safety measures. The amusement park’s spacious layout and recent construction have been ideal for maintaining appropriate social distancing while offering a much-welcomed return to sun and fun.
New policies include health screenings at The Park entrance and continue throughout the OWA experience. The measures most visible to guests include: additional hand sanitizing stations, social-distancing signage and guides and enhanced cleaning and sanitation practices park-wide.
Downtown OWA’s pedestrian-only streets provide an excellent opportunity to get out and enjoy a downtown stroll. The dining/retail/entertainment area was inspired by some of the South’s most beloved small towns and recreates that atmosphere in a vehicle-free design, allowing families plenty of room and fresh air to explore. Many of the dining options in Downtown OWA include shaded outdoor spaces as well as spacious indoor dining areas that have been arranged to give families an intimate dining experience while maintaining proper distance from other guests. Shopping is equally spacious, with retailers having taken care to create safe, healthy environments.
The newly re-opened OWA is ideal for families looking for traditional vacation experiences that are comfortably close to home. Many of the shopping and dining opportunities will be new to even returning guests, with big-name venues like Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen and Lucy’s Retired Surfers Bar and Grill having only opened briefly prior to the pandemic-related closure. They are now open with spectacular menus and dining spaces.
OWA is just minutes from Gulf Shores and Orange Beach on the Foley Beach Express, making The Park and Downtown OWA ideal as either a break from the beach or as an entertainment destination unto itself. The award-winning TownePlace Suites by Marriott is on-property and features family-sized suites with fully equipped kitchens. The one-of-a-kind hotel design is an OWA exclusive and incorporates spacious outdoor gathering areas and a lobby bar.
Another win for families is the non-rider pass, which allows parents, caregivers or anyone else who does not plan to ride to receive admission to The Park for just $5. Click to purchase tickets, or, for tickets and additional information, go to VisitOWA.com.
