The Wacky Tacky Light Tour returns to Birmingham on December 8, 9, and 10, masked and socially distanced to enjoy the holiday tradition of festive decorations. This summer, the fundraiser for Fresh Air Family provided $54,000 in financial aid to summer campers who could not have otherwise attended Gross Out Camp, an award-winning science camp. This year’s event hopes to equal last year’s success to continue supporting children and families affected by COVID-19.
The tour features homes that go over-the-top to decorate for the holidays. The tour includes Santa’s Trailer Park, the Hanukkah House, Dueling Neighbors, Star Wars Christmas, and new houses: Saddle Up Santa and Xmas on a Limb. The tour is curated to light up the night with fun and festivity.
Sponsored by Rare Transportation, Tropicaleo Restaurant, and BirminghamParent.com. See http://www.FreshAirFamily.org or http://www.WackyTacky.org for details.
The event begins at Tropicaleo, a Puerto Rican Restaurant at 4426 4th Avenue South in Avondale. The restaurant will host in a large, outdoor space with heaters for the comfort and distancing of participants. Tours leave every 15 minutes, at 6, 6:15, 6:30, 6:45, 7, 7:15, and 7:30.
