‘Stand with Vulcan’ Car Tag Available FREE OF CHARGE!
Published: May 20, 2022
Vulcan Park Foundation is pleased to announce the ‘Stand With Vulcan’ tag free for first 1,000 registered vehicles in Alabama.
The Stand With Vulcan specialty tag is available for supporters of Vulcan Park & Museum. The funds will support Vulcan Park & Museum’s mission to preserve and promote Vulcan as the symbol for the Birmingham region.
“We are extremely excited to now offer our specialty car tag for free,” says Amanda Hare, Marketing & Public Relations Manager of Vulcan Park Foundation. “Although we are sponsoring the first year, the funding we will receive from supporters purchasing tags for years to come will help us not only ensure that Vulcan continues to stand for all of Birmingham, but also that we can continue providing educational programs and cherished memories for many years to come.
“We have quite a way to go to reach the number of registered commitments that we need in order for the tag to begin printing, so we really need 1000 people to register for the tag,” Hare said.
For the state of Alabama to produce the specialty tag, a minimum requirement of 1,000 commitments must be met. Thanks to a contribution from Vulcan Park Foundation, the first 1,000 supporters to request the Stand With Vulcan specialty tag will receive the tag free of additional charge for the first year. Supporters will still be responsible for their regular motor vehicle registration taxes and fees.

After the first 1,000 commitments are met, supporters may purchase the Stand With Vulcan tag for $50 at any Alabama Department of Motor Vehicles office. Of that amount, $41.25 will go to Vulcan Park Foundation. Vulcan Park Foundation provides valuable funding to support Vulcan Park & Museum’s mission to preserve and promote Vulcan as the symbol for the Birmingham region, to advance knowledge and understanding of Birmingham’s history and culture and to encourage exploration of the region.
