Prep Time15 minsCook Time45 minsTotal Time1 hr

 1 stick butter (not margarine)
1 German Chocolate Cake mix ( NO substitutions)
 1 whole large egg
1 (8oz) block of whole fat cream cheese, softened to room temperature
 1 tbsp best quality cocoa
2 additional eggs (hold to the side)
 1 of sugar (confectionery)

1

In the bowl of a stand mixer combine the cake mix, softened butter, and one egg. Press that into the bottom of a 9x13 glass baking pan.

2

Mix cream cheese, cocoa powder, 2 eggs, and powered sugar together until smooth and luscious. Resist the urge to eat this.

3

Pour over the unbaked cake mixture evenly.

4

Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 40-45 minutes, it will be set when you give the pan a jiggle and nothing moves.

5

At this point if you like you can sift a touch of powdered sugar over them for a nice presentation. Now let them cool for about 30 minutes on the counter top before you cut them into squares.
