"I did it on a whim"

Published: November 6, 2023

Author Maury Levine has released his second humorous book, a picture ebook for kids called Oliver’s AI-Generated Silly Picture Book.

Maury wanted to see if he could write and release a humorous children’s book as quickly as possible. “I did it on a whim,” he says. “I wanted to see how fast I could put it all together. It was very much experimental writing. I managed to write and release it in a week.”

Named for his grandson, Oliver’s AI-Generated Silly Picture Book is a silly satire of a traditional picture book. Levine explains, “I came up with the most ridiculous phrases possible, then used AI to create the pictures. Kids will find that everything in the book is just a little bit off.”

Oliver’s AI-Generated Silly Picture Book is available exclusively on Amazon for download.

Maury is the author of Shopping Bagged and Oliver’s AI-Generated Silly Picture Book, a contributor to comedy websites including The Broadway Beat, End of the Bench, The Spoof, Glossy News, Points in Case, Robot Butt and Little Old Lady Comedy, and had a riff used in an episode of Mystery Science Theatre 3000. He is also a drummer and lives in Birmingham, Alabama with his family.
